As a girl, I was intrigued by my Grandmothers' stories of making their own handmade soap back in the 1930's.  "Lye Soap," they called it.  I was amazed that my Grandmas actually made soap... I was only familiar with the "store-bought" soap that we used at home.

As an adult I became a fan of handmade soap, and wanted to learn more about the soapmaking process.  I did some research and decided to try my hand at it.  (I'll be the first to admit that my initial batch of handmade soap was less than ideal!)

I kept at it, modified my recipe quite a few times and soon produced some pretty nice soaps.  I gave my them to family members and friends to try, and to my surprise they were soon coming back for more!  They loved how it made their skin feel: "moisturized" and "really soft" were words I heard again and again.

I decided to make my soap available to the public, and Heirloom Soapworks was born.

I love soapmaking, and I personally test each batch of soap to maintain the fabulous quality Heirloom Soapworks has become known for.  I hope you'll try a bar or two, and experience the difference for yourself!

Not sure which handmade soap is right for you?  I'm happy to recommend one for you; simply contact me by phone (618)791-5796 or email bsr2002@peaknet.net
