Hi, my name is Becky Rippelmeyer. I make natural soap in my home in the farm country of Southern Illinois. Here's why...
In 2002, I bought a bar of handmade soap at a local craft fair and found that it irritated my skin. I've loved handmade soap for quite some time, but this one bad bar of soap changed my life.
It made me wonder how hard it would be to make my own soap. I read up on the subject, and made my first batch. It was o.k., but the cocoa I used for fragrance didn't suit me. I was a bit discouraged, but not for long. I made another batch. This time the soap was really nice. I was hooked!
I heard positive feedback from my soap "testers". Lots of it. So decided to sell a few bars of soap. That's how Heirloom Soapworks got started. Just a one-woman operation producing soap in my laundry room. It still amazes me!
In addition to making soap, I enjoy teaching art to Kindergarten and 1st graders, reading, flower gardening, bass fishing with my husband and son, and training our Labrador Retriever.
I am so blessed and thankful to have the support of my Husband who listens to much, "soap talk", and always encourages me to do what I love!
Thanks to all my customers, family and friends who continue to inspire me with their testimonials, soap ideas and feedback! God bless, and Happy Skin! ~Becky
